Deficiencies of Biochemical Pond:
Although the State has relaxed restrictions on standards of excrement absorbed and digested by land, in principle annual absorption-digestion amount by each mu of land shall not exceed excrement of 5 pigs, which is still an unachievable requirement for large livestock farms. In addition biogas digester anaerobic treatment and biochemical pond aerobic treatment are methods to make use of biological decomposition, which take a very long time. It will take some 90 days to use biogas digester to decompose excrement of hoggery with very high content of hazardous substances into full biogas slurry, and it will take longer period if simply using the process of biochemical pond without being heated and pressurized, and the wastewater finally discharged remains unbearably black with stink.
